Our Policies

Policies & Disclaimers

Your comfort and safety are our priority. Please review these policies before your stay at Sky Retreat Iceland.

House Rules

Check-in is from 16:00 for all cabins. Check-out is by 11:00 for Aurora Glass Cabins and 10:00 for standard cabins (Aurora Cabin with Private Jacuzzi, Seljalandsfoss Cabin). We use self check-in with a keypad code sent before your arrival. Early check-in or late check-out may be arranged subject to availability — please contact us in advance.
All cabins are strictly non-smoking. Smoking is not permitted inside any cabin or on the decks. A cleaning fee of ISK 50,000 will be charged if evidence of smoking is found.
Pets are not permitted at Sky Retreat Iceland. Service animals are excepted with prior arrangement — please contact us before booking.
Please observe quiet hours after 22:00. Our cabins are located in a peaceful rural area and sound carries easily. Please be considerate of other guests and neighbours.
Each cabin has a maximum occupancy as listed in the booking. Exceeding the stated maximum is not permitted and may result in additional charges or cancellation of your stay.
Parties, events, and gatherings are not permitted without prior written arrangement. Sky Retreat is designed as a peaceful retreat, not a venue.
Children under 13 must be supervised at all times, especially around hot tubs, saunas, and outdoor areas. Parents/guardians are fully responsible for their children’s safety.
Drones are welcome at the Seljalandsfoss Cabin. At our Aurora Glass Cabins and Aurora Cabin with Private Jacuzzi, we are very strict about drone use to protect guest privacy. Please contact us in advance for permission.
For your convenience, large waste bins are provided at each cabin — no sorting required on your end. We take all collected waste to a professional sorting and recycling station, so you can enjoy your stay without worrying about waste management. Please leave no trace — take everything you brought with you when you leave.
If a key or access device is lost, a replacement fee will be charged to cover re-keying costs. Please keep your access details secure.

Hot Tub & Sauna Safety

All hot tub and sauna facilities are provided for your enjoyment and are used entirely at your own risk. Sky Retreat Iceland is not liable for any injury, illness, or discomfort arising from their use.
Hot tubs and saunas may pose risks for individuals with heart conditions, high or low blood pressure, or who are pregnant. If you have any health concerns, consult your doctor before use. Exit immediately if you feel dizzy, faint, or unwell.
Please shower before entering the hot tub. Do not use soap, shampoo, lotions, or other products in the tub. This keeps the water clean for everyone.
No food is permitted in the jacuzzi or inside the sauna chambers. All drinks beside still water are prohibited inside the saunas. Please keep the hot tub and sauna areas clean for all guests.
We recommend soaking for a maximum of 15–20 minutes at a time. Take breaks, stay hydrated, and listen to your body.
If the hot tub water is contaminated (e.g. by soap, body products, food, or other substances requiring draining and refilling), a cleaning fee of ISK 30,000 will be charged.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

A minimum of 30 days’ notice is required for all cancellations. Bookings are non-refundable. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances.
Date changes and modifications are subject to availability and must be requested as early as possible. We will do our best to accommodate changes.
No refunds are provided for cancellations due to force majeure events including, but not limited to: severe weather, volcanic eruptions, road closures, pandemics, or government travel restrictions. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance.
In the unlikely event that Sky Retreat Iceland is unable to provide access to your booked cabin (e.g. due to maintenance emergency or structural issue), you will receive a full refund.
We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers cancellation, delays, medical emergencies, and natural events. Iceland’s weather can be unpredictable.
