The Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) are a natural phenomenon — we can’t schedule them. Our location in the Eyjafjöll area offers one of the most reliable and clearest views in Iceland when conditions are right. Visibility depends on cloud cover, solar activity, and darkness. Check our Northern Lights information and forecast in the Travel Guide section for tips and real-time updates.
Jacuzzis and saunas are private to your cabin and available 24/7 for your exclusive use (where included). Note that not all cabins have the same amenities — check your booking details.
Yes — Aurora Glass Cabins, Aurora & Private Jacuzzi Cabin, and the Seljalandsfoss Cabin feature traditional blackout curtains. Our Aurora Glass Cabins have blackout curtains on the side walls, and we provide sleep masks for added comfort during bright summer nights or daytime rest.
We offer self check-in for a smooth, contactless arrival. There is no dedicated reception desk, but we live on the farm nearby and are most of the time available to assist if you encounter any issues — just reach out via the contact details provided.
Yes, all cabins are fully heated for year-round comfort. Glass Cabins feature underfloor heating and a heat pump for extra coziness.
We do not arrange airport transfers. We strongly recommend renting a car — it’s the best way to explore Iceland’s South Coast. All cabins have free private parking right at the entrance, and many incredible sights (waterfalls, beaches, etc.) are just a short drive away.
We do not provide breakfast at the cabins, but a delicious walk-in breakfast is available just 2.7 km away at Hotel Anna. We recommend calling ahead to reserve, especially in winter (November–February).
Yes! Hotel Anna and Skálakot (both about 2.7 km away) offer à la carte take-away menus you can enjoy in your cabin. For street food options, Heimamenn provides take-away food about 5–8 minutes’ drive away.
The nearest supermarkets (and liquor stores) are in Hvolsvöllur (37 km) and Vík (48 km). Stock up when you arrive or during day trips.
Yes, all cabins offer high-speed WiFi for your convenience.
Fresh linens, towels, and basic toiletries are provided in all cabins. Cabins that include a jacuzzi or sauna also come with bathrobes for your comfort.
Policies vary by booking platform and season — please refer to your confirmation email or contact us directly. We recommend travel insurance for Iceland’s unpredictable weather.
Most Aurora Glass Cabins are designed for 2 adults (perfect for romantic escapes). The Aurora Cabin with Private Jacuzzi and the Seljalandsfoss Cabin can accommodate up to 4 people. Check specific listings for exact capacity and details.
Yes, we happily provide a travel cot (also known as a baby cot, travel crib, or portable crib) free of charge for all of our farm cabins. To ensure one is available and set up ready for your arrival, please request it upfront when making your booking or shortly after confirming your reservation. We have a limited number available on a first-come, first-served basis, so early requests help us prepare everything perfectly for your family stay. Just add a note during booking or message us via the platform — we’re here to make your trip with little ones as smooth and enjoyable as possible!
Warm layers, a tripod/camera for photos, patience, and our Northern Lights forecast! Binoculars or a red flashlight (to preserve night vision) can help too. For the ultimate Sky Retreat luxury: pack a swimsuit to soak in your private outdoor jacuzzi while the aurora dances overhead, or bring your favourite cozy pyjamas to enjoy the magical display from the warmth of your bed through panoramic glass windows—no need to step outside!
